Annotation
This paper proposes a 'constructionist' theory of inference generation that efficiently predicts whether specific knowledge-based inference classes are produced during text comprehension. The theory incorporates readers' goals, local and global coherence, explanations of why events and actions in the text take place, and inference-activation from various information sources.
