Annotation

This paper focuses on the analysis of and writing motivation for two similar types of contemporary aboriginal Warlpiri texts, i.e. 'dreamtime' and 'oral history' texts, and it compares these texts with child texts about hunting trips and camp incidents. It is argued that pre-school aboriginal children already possess rich cultural 'storytelling' knowledge.
