Annotation

The syntactic elements of a Guarani sentence are said to be partitioned into pragmatic components which, when related syntagmatically by scope and pragmatic function, typically form a right-branching structure. D. uses this kind of analysis to account for most occurrences of marked word order, intonation peaks, certain free subjects, various particles and other boundary phenomena.
