This paper briefly reviews the facial feedback hypothesis and then takes it into the domain of human face-to-face interaction. The interpersonal facial feedback hypothesis argues that in face-to-face interaction the hedonic tone of facial displays activated through imitation influences the underlying affect that the partners experience.
