This substantial English contribution to Basque phonology consists of two main parts. Part I discusses inventory and restrictions, lexicon structure and morphological implications. Part II provides a detailed analysis of the dialects of coastal Bizcayan and Baztan. The last chapter on suprasegmentals points to the fact that many Basque dialects are tonal languages.
