An attempt to construct a unified framework for the discussion of topics such as knowledge, perception, sensation, content, concepts, belief, meaning and communication. The basic thesis is that information should be regarded as the raw material - out there in the world - for meaning which (together with the constellation of mental attitudes that exhibit it) is a 'manufactured' product.
