This volume addresses six key issues that all relate to the political situation that gave rise to the besieged condition of Botswana minority languages: linguistic domination as historical legacy; minority language marginalization; single-track promotion of Setswana alongside English; the tendency towards language shift and language death; the language conflict situation; and the growing awareneses towards self-determination.
