This volume constitutes a huge dictionary of the Native North American Aleut language, which also contains a brief history of the native population speaking the language and a reconstruction of their ancestors' movements, as wel as a comparison of dialects and their historical relationship to Eskimo, and the Aleut treatment of Russian loanwords.
