This volume constitutes a comprehensive contribution to the understanding of the interaction of morphology, syntax and lexicon in the grammatical structure of Central Siberian Yupik and of the historical language contacts, with Russian, English and especially with Chukchi, the latter leading to a remarkable distribution of Chukchi loanwords in Yupik.
