Annotation

This book aims at assessing the Namibian linguistic situation since English was selected as the single official language, whilst German, Afrikaans and the local African languages and dialects were considered national and (lower) educational languages. But the authors also look beyond Namibia, to issues of language contact, conflict and language policy on the African continent.
