Annotation

This history of Hawaiian language studies mainly focuses on the sequence of synchronic studies that explore and descibe Hawaiian structural features and deal with some aspects of Hawaiian sociolinguistics, including political ones. Yet it also reports on diachronic studies that trace Hawaiian development and its relationship to other Polynesian languages.
