Annotation
This case study deals with an adult Japanese learner's English second language acquisition via teacher recasts in an EFL classroom in Japan. It suggests that recasting is a complex verbal behaviour, influenced by the teaching environment, the interaction context, and the learner's cognitive orientation. The impact of recasts is influenced by both linguistic and paralinguistic elements and the learner's autonomous utilization of the learning opportunities provided by the feedback.
