Annotation

This paper explores the role of cultural identity and heritage language maintenance in the lives of second-generation Korean-American university students in the United States. The informants indicate the absence of societal recognition of heritage language maintenance as the most important factor in their lack of motivation to maintain their heritage language. Still they appear to have constructed a unique bicultural identity.
