Annotation

This study of success in second language acquisition considers passing for a native speaker as a frequently overlooked form of second language ability. Quantitative analysis shows that the age of first exposure to the target language is less crucial to success than assumed. Qualitative analysis demonstrates that second language users' accounts on passing practices differ from widely held passing assumptions.
