Annotation

This study, which explores the nature of dyadic interaction in an adult English second language classroom, traces four patterns, distinguishable in terms of equality and mutuality, suggesting that certain patterns are more conducive than others to language acquisition. These results are explicated by means of Vygotsky's theory of cognitive development.
