Annotation

This study links three domains that have recently attracted renewed interest in research on adult second language acquisition and applied linguistics, namely learner identity, first language use in second language study and second language play. This paper proposes a new role for adult form-based second language play in second language learning theory, which serves to facilitate the acquisition of second language forms and functions as a textual icon for learners' growing multicompetence.
