Annotation

This longitudinal study analyzes kindergarten girls' school-defined writing tasks that envisage the maintenance of social cohesion in their peer interactions. As they were also able to use this writing for individual status aspirations, this created group tensions, but these were resolved by the girls' "cooperative competition" practice.
