Annotation

This paper focuses on social and educational problems of creole speaking descendants of former slaves in the United States. Evidence from law, educational policy, and linguistics indicates that current linguistic regulations are inconsistent with the educational goals of "systemic reform" (Smith & O'Day, 1991).
