This paper on advice-giving practices in non-instructional student-teacher classroom conversations -in casu about jail-, illustrates how certain ways of interaction have the power to create credibility and trustworthiness by showing alignment, awareness of particular norms, and an orientation towards certain local peer group assumptions.
