Annotation

This paper proposes an anthropological study of communication, based on a certain reading of Wittgenstein, that aims at developing a genealogy of language-games, tracing the childhood roots of adult word use. It is suggested that some early language-games can be found in every human culture. Furthermore, consequences of the Wittgensteinian model for the issue of the origin of language are discussed.
