This paper uses frame semantics to account for bound utterances, whose contextual meaning is determined by the speech situation they are associated with. It associates bound utterances with subevents of a frame. As the use of a bound utterance cannot be predicted on ground of its semantics, bound utterances must be listed in the lexicon.
