Annotation

This paper starts from the assumption that ''identities'' are texts of social practice, based on the identifications made in conversations. Looking both at the discourse content and the medium, this study argues that the ''global'' and ''local'' identities of British Caribbeans are constructed through identifications in every discourse, in which language and word choice interact and are both significant.
