Annotation

This study uses statistical methods for prosody description to examine fluency and expressiveness and their relationship among readers of 8 to 10 years of age. Results reveal close relationships between expressiveness and measures associated with pitch mobility and between fluency and variables linked to temporal organization. The effects argue for psychological hypotheses about the underlying mechanisms.
