Annotation

This study examines adults' word reduction behavior for predictable patterns in order to better understand the nature of phonological reductions in children. The general bias was to preserve well-formed prosodic patterns and salient syllables. Yet a tendency to preserve word-initial instead of word-final syllables suggests subtle differences in adult and child language processing.
