Annotation

This study explores the use of clitic pronouns by incipient bilingual Spanish-speaking preschool children with and without language impairments (SLI). It is demonstrated that children with SLI employ clitic pronouns less frequently and that they are less accurate in their use of clitic gender agreement. For third person singular and plural preterite tense verb inflections, no group differences were found. These findings are compared to those of previous studies on language impaired Spanish- and Italian-speaking children.
