Annotation

This study examines individual differences in the ability of English-speaking college students learning Japanese, to integrate information from word parts and context in interpreting novel kanji compounds, that is words build up by two or more Chinese characters. It is demonstrated that the combined effect of kanji and contextual clues must indeed be interpreted in terms of individual differences.
