Annotation

This study investigates whether long-term memory (LTM) affects short term memory (STM) at a sublexical level, by examining whether the frequency of occurrence of one-syllable nonwords in English polysyllabic words, influences recall accuracy on nonword repetition and serial recall, two phonological STM tasks. The result confirms that LTM facilitates phonological STM at both lexical and sublexical levels.
