Annotation

This paper demonstrates that there are often sharp contrasts between the information found in materials developed for second/foreign language grammar instruction and what learners encounter in the real world of language use. It is argued that a revision of pedagogy to mirror actual use, as indicated by frequency studies, could lead to radical changes facilitating students' learning process.
