This study extends Tabossi's (1988) findings which suggest that both dominance and context may affect access to lexical ambiguity, by demonstrating that this findings reflect genuine context effects. It then introduces a time-course hypothesis of lexical access and discusses its explanatory capacity with regard to current theories.
