Annotation

This paper discusses resettled mental patients' skillful production of "omni-relevant devices" (Sacks's (1992)), as deployed in the actual case of talk of "quality of life" assessments. These findings might affect the supposed opposition between "conversational" and "institutional" types of language and social interaction.
