Annotation
This paper examines whether an ethnomethodological approach to discourse analysis
can take into account macro-social and political functions of discourse, by investigating trial transcripts as instances of documents produced by and for State procedures. It comes up with a forceful conclusion regarding the nexus between conversational transcripts and the very State production itself.
