This paper deals with dialogue theory as a part of pragmatics, which can be traced back to Plato's theory of ideal philosophic communication, reconstructable through interpretative conversation analysis of his dialogues. Platonic dialectic, as exchange and interpretation of signs, can be regarded as a semiotic process. Furthermore dialectic, being dyadic and mutual, is a joint activity and (philosophic) communication.
