The majority of Danish studies on youth and language appear to belong to a “cultural- identity perspective.” According to survey studies of language attitudes, young Danes are “conformists” adopting the values of “elite discourse.” On the other hand, adolescent Danish peer groups appear to be more “creative” in their language use than adults with regard to the construction of group and identity affiliations.
