This paper explores the representation of female identity and practice in the Dutch, German, U.K., Spanish, Greek, Finnish, Indian and Taiwanese versions of Cosmopolitan magazine. It is demonstrated that a global 'problem-solution' discourse schema which allows for local variation occurs in all the versions of the magazine.
