This book on Internet language is organized into eight sections. It identifies five ‘‘Internet-using situations’’ that are expected to differ in the choice and frequency of all kinds of linguistic features: Email, synchronous chatgroups, asynchronous bulletin boards, newsgroups and mailing lists, virtual worlds, and the world-wide web.
