This paper examines whether structural priming can occur without specific language support, in fluent German-English bilinguals, when the source of priming is an utterance in a different language. The findings point to a structural source of priming and suggest a common psycholinguistic scaffolding for the bilingual codeswitching and transfer phenomena. They also provide evidence for basic psycholinguistic continuities among language learning, normal and bilingual language use, and language change.
