Annotation

This paper deals with the relationship between language, culture, identity and social structure in the Federal Republic of Germany. By embedding the phenomenon of 'mixed language' in the world of inner-city juveniles in the ethnographical concept of 'liminality', it is examined how the relationship between linguistic practices, identity through nationality and social structure is loosening.
