This study explores the nonlinguistic outcomes of a French immersion versus a nonimmersion program in Cape Breton (Canada). The dependent variables include attitudes toward French as a second language learning, orientations for learning, willingness to communicate, communication anxiety, perceived communicative competence, and selfreported frequency of communication in both English and French.
