This paper tests a new learning styles instrument on three groups of language learners to assess their learning style preferences. The findings show that the three involved groups, viz. Russian Eglish Foreign Language students, Russian English Second Language students, and Asian English Second Language students, learn English under three modalities: Project Orientation, Group Activity Orientation, and Individual Activity Orientation.
