This paper deals with the threat of extinction of the Welsh language, the actual and potential influences on this process, and a two-part plea for action, including the suggestion to safeguard Welsh culture in order to preserve Welsh language, and the adoption of a long-term strategic policy to protect Welsh language and culture.
