Annotation

In this study on sentence structure and formality, it is hypothesized that grammatical forms which are more difficult to construct and to understand, will be judged more formal. Thus participants were required to order left-branching (and center-branching) sentences, the more difficult forms, and right-branching sentences, the easier forms, in terms of their formality.
