Annotation

This book discusses two case studies on the impact of international press norms on mass media discourse. The first study investigates how the leading Finnish newspaper 'Helsingin Sanomat' and the English newspaper 'The Times' complied with these rules from the forties to the eighties. The second study examines how nine media from seven countries observed the rules on the behavior of journalists and mass media prescribed by the Unesco's Mass Media Declaration of 1978.
