Annotation

This book examines some significant juvenile comic strips to explain ideological paradigms of broader significance in media studies. It criticizes the concepts of identification, stereotyping and cultural imperialism, and presents an alternative ideology theory, based on V. Propp's morphology and V. Volosinov's theory regarding dialogic meaning production.
