The papers in this collection, discussing mainly foreign language classroom research, are divided into four sections: section I contains articles on foreign language pedagogy from a discourse analytic perspective; the papers in section II focus on the learner as active agent in the foreign language acquisition process; section III focuses on teacher input in the learning process; and section IV deals with goals, methods and strategies in the foreign language classroom.
