This study focuses in specific on the role of English teachers in developing the intellectual potential of girls of Pakistani and Bangladeshi backgrounds in English secondary schools located in the Midlands. The general focus lies in these girls' perceptions of the relationship between their home and their school experiences and the effects of this relationship on their future identities and lives.
