The growth in language minorities in America is accompanied by an increase in language policies directed by the English-only movement and support for policies that controll immigration and immigrant health/welfare services. It is examined whether support for English-only policies among Californian Anglo-Americans is linked to perceptions regarding a decreasing gap between Anglo-American and Latino group vitality.
