Annotation

This paper discusses the results of a survey involving parents, teachers and pupils in Kenyan rural primary schools, inquiring whether they prefer English or Kiswahili versus their mother tongue (in this case, Kalenjin) as language of instruction from the first primary class onwards. The results indicate that practically all participants prefer the use of English or Kiswahili as language of instruction.
