Annotation

When is an answer to a question acceptable? In a first section G. analyzes the theories of Hintikka and Aqvist, Kaplan, and Boër and Lycan, as possible bases for the epistemic concepts underlying a theory of answers. In a second section, some question theories are considered with respect to ways in which conceptions of answers have influenced concepts of question semantics. The third part attempts to explain the concept of a pragmatically relevant answer. And the fourth part reconstructs how an answerer chooses between alternative answers.
