This paper suggests to reject the notion of plagiarism and to consider textual borrowings in the light of transgressive and nontransgressive intertextuality, in order to be able to focus more on the crucial issues underlying intertextuality: writing, identity, power, knowledge, disciplinary dynamics, and discourse.
