This study examines the context dependency of the language assimilation model, stating that immigrant youth's national language competence predicts adaptation irrespective of their ethnic language proficiency.The study was conducted in the Netherlands, with a sample including 160 Turkish second generation immigrant adolescents between 13 and 18 years old.
